Meet David Glenn

A popular radio voice and sports journalist in North Carolina and throughout the East Coast for more than 15 years, David Glenn is the afternoon host for the North Carolina Sports Talk Network.

Known for his "thinking man's" approach to sports, at least when he's not talking about professional wrestlers or supermodels, Glenn was a successful host from 2000-09 at Sports Radio 850 The Buzz in Raleigh, N.C., first on a Saturday morning program, then in the afternoon drive-time slot. As a drive-time host, Glenn achieved ratings that represented a larger audience than those of all other Triangle sports talk shows in the same time slot combined. He has participated in more than 500 shows annually in recent years, on dozens of stations throughout the ACC area, including as a regular guest on programs based in Atlanta, Baltimore, Blacksburg, Brunswick, Chapel Hill, Charlotte, Charlottesville, Clemson, Durham, Fayetteville, Greensboro, Greenville, Miami, Raleigh, Richmond, Roanoke, Spartanburg, Tallahassee and Wilmington.

After more than a decade as the award-winning editor and lead writer for the ACC Sports Journal, the best-selling college sports publication in history, Glenn led a small group that purchased the magazine and re-launched its accompanying website, ACCSports.com, in 2008. Within a year under the new ownership, and despite an economic downturn nationally and in the media industry, the company nearly doubled its total number (magazine and website combined) of subscribers, upgraded its newsstand distribution outlets 10-fold (to more than 100), and increased unique visitors to its website by more than 5,000 percent.

Glenn, who has covered college athletics and other sports as a journalist for more than 25 years, is the author of seven ACC-related productions/publications, including "Royal Blue: The History of Duke Basketball" (Raycom), "Tar Heels On Tape" (Village Companies) and "The History Of The ACC Tournament" (Raycom).

Glenn also has contributed to the New York Times, the Washington Post, the Philadelphia Inquirer, the Durham (N.C.) Herald-Sun, the Chapel Hill (N.C.) News, The Sporting News, the ACC Basketball Yearbook, the ACC Football Yearbook, the ACC Basketball Handbook, Lindy’s Annuals, Athlon Annuals, College Sports, Carolina Court, The Wolfpacker, Cavalier Corner, Basketball News, the Prep Stars Recruiter’s Handbook, PrepStars.com, ACCSports.com, GoHeels.com, ACCToday.com, Duke Basketball Report, StateFans.com, InsideCarolina.com and many other publications.

A licensed and practicing attorney in North Carolina from 1994-2009, Glenn also serves as a popular speaker at dozens of sports clubs, civic clubs and other organizations.

Born in Illinois and raised in the Philadelphia area, he lives in Raleigh, N.C., with his wife Maria, son Anthony and daughter Avery.
